Most joyride cyclist who had participate in an event such as MTB Jamboree or race must have experience it, worry not because almost all endurance sports enthusiasm face the same wrath of this bitch biting down our muscle. In fact, even pro athletes encounter cramps every once in a while...

So what do we know about this painful things that seem to visit us when we are usually down, or about to go down. First, the pain... Ahh! Yes... The pain is damn excruciating and very tormenting. In some cases it may comes and goes after the first wave, sort of like an earthquake. Once is never enough. Second, the pain usually take 3 - 7 days for a full recovery. This usually increases as our age increases as well. The older we get, the longer it will take to recover.

Most of my cycling buddies thought they got cramps because of dehydration or there was an imbalance in their electrolytes. Of course the solution would be to drink a lot of water and fuel up on Isotonic drinks. The solution may have work, but some of them are still experiencing cramps. So why is that? In order to understand this, I did my own digging on the net and had several interviews with my fellow cycling buddies.

The culprit are....
Glycogen... Glycogen is our fuel or energy that we rely on to carry out our workout. This fuel is stored in our muscle in a rather small amount. Untrained cyclist like me, hold up around 400 grams - 500 grams of glycogen. Which equal to 1800 Kcal - 2000 Kcal ( roughly...I think). If we happen to work our way hard enough ( for me at 90% - 100% of BpM) it will cause our muscle to run out of fuel within hour of our workout. Once our muscle is out of it juice, we are about to make a date with the lovely Miss Cramps, although the date is not confirm yet, but we are in the colliding path. What kick in after that is... Gluconeogenesis, the name is so sexy you may end up not saying it at all...In this stage our body will be breaking fat and protein to change it into glycogen for our body. This process is slow, and sometimes our muscle may encounter depletion first. What happen to a car when it ran out of fuel? It stall....We? We meet Miss Cramps.

How to overcome?

Train properly
Glycogen storage capabilities had its own limit, untrained people ranging to 400 - 500 ( Depend on fitness level, couch potatoes maybe lower...So suck it! you lazy ass) Trained and very fit people have double that amount. With that said, we need to train properly and increase our storage capacity which will lead to longer fuel burn.

Fuel up or pit stop...
Since our fuel can ran out quickly, it is important to fuel up along the way in our ride. Liquid energy source such as gels and power drinks is good source of fuel. Take it before we feel tired, our goal is to prolong the fuel burn by keep topping it up. I usually add up after the first 20 minutes, however I would change the time period depends on the intensity of the workout.

Try slowing down...
A few of my friends who rarely experience cramps said he would use 70% - 80% BpM, this would slow down glycogen burned out and give time for Gluconeogenesis to take place. Even after burning all the glycogen, our body will have enough time to change fat and protein to energy that our muscle requires. When the workout intensity is low the energy we required is also low. Slow energy output ( Gluconeogenesis process ) meet low energy demands. Everyone are happy, no cramps. So slow down a bit will ya...

I hope this help, or gave you an ideas of how it all began and to avoid it. It works on me...
I for once enjoy the trail and would really love to repeat it again sometime in the future. However it is not the trail that is at stake here...It is the Trek Mamba – 29er bike, my bike.

Let not dawdle on what is a 29er, you all gonna have to check on the Wikipedia on that part. I won’t be discussing on how my bike is set up either as the real question is how did the 29er benefits? How does it feel and handle? I believe those are the question that my friends want to confirm with me at this moment.

I have to admit that have always been intrigued in the 29er since they first hit the market so I went on digging all the info I could find on the net about the 29er. Therefore I will be lining up all the claims on 29er and my own confirmation.

Benefits and Pros claim.

1.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> Tolerate bumps better – True, after riding the 29er around the trail with bumps, obstacles, roots, and holes. I found that the bike receives it at a tolerable rate, at some point it is almost feels like I am riding on my Pyre, Banshee a fullsus bike. This makes handling the 29er much easier than a normal hardtail.

2.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> Increase Stability – I find it easier to handle the bike in a single track condition, maintaining course that sometime changes rapidly feels smoother and more manageable. I had to ride on a concrete trail that was covered with moss; it was very slippery that even my rubber shoes outsole won’t stick properly. However the 29er hold on to it like gecko on stick. Of course there is some part where it does gives up, but it still triumph over all my buddies on 26er who keep skidding over the trail. 29er tires rarely spin so it helps out with my climbs.

4.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> No endo and flipping – For some reason that I cannot explain or describe it well enough I found that 29er bike are very hard to lift backward during a climbs. No matter how steep the climbs are I do not need to bend over my back to lower my centre of gravity to prevent lifting. I also notice that when I accidentally ride my front wheel into a water passage I dint endo my bike. Not that I am hoping to...Huhuhu. But the wheels kind of went out and over it instead of a normal 26er would do. This means safer ride and better climbing at steep climbs.

5.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> Easier to maintain speed – Since the wheels are bigger than 26er the 29er holds momentum better in trail. That is why downhiller bike have such a wide wheels, this enable them to handle corner with more traction and grip. 29er does have the same benefit as the downhiller bike with lesser width. I can feel the difference when I took the first dive on a sharp corner. 29er holds the ground better and tolerate the bumps as I pass along it. So, yeah! It does negotiate corner better.

7.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> Better attack angle – Having a bigger wheels make it easier to go over stuff in the trail. Just ran everything over with my big wheels.

I think have pretty much cover all the things in Pros section. There I was thinking I would benefits in power efficiency on climbs because of the wheels but it actually sent me the other way around. I had to rely on granny gear to climb but steep hill where my rival doesn’t. Still it was not hard to stay ahead of other riders in my group that day, even though I rely on granny gear. The 29er wheels coverage was slightly advanced than 26er. 1 pedal stroke of 29er gets you ahead more than a 26er.

3.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> Braking power needed – I have read about this somewhere in the net, however I did not have any problem with my braking power. Suspensi bocor...Nak kata aku lasak, memang laa aku lasak, kekeke. Dah nama pun mountain bike, memang laa nak belasah sampai lebu. Tapi aku maintain bike aku, sentiasa cuci, suspensi pun aku pasang Lizzard skin, nak jaga takut habuk masuk, dah ler benda tue aku beli kat Singapore, punyalah susah nak dapat kat Malaysia nie.

Cari maklumat pasal RP23, nak tahu komen user lain. Setelah habis penelahan aku, tepatlah ramalan ku.

1 year free servicing policy dan kalo nak hantar baiki kat KL jer pun. Xder laa jauh sangat pun...

Jadi pada sahabat-sahabat yang pakai RP23 berhati-hatilah dan sayangi RP23 anda. It is not that I am very busy or something, it is just that there are not much of a place for me to ride...
When I built my Pyre it was meant for torturing and hammering the trail, unfortunately judging from the current trails. The only one who taking the beating of torture and hammering is ME.

Sure we cover lots of KM in every ride we done. Weekend ride usually range from 35KM to 5oKM. Trail were mostly flat, loose gravel and with small hilly parts. If I need to put it in percentage I would say. 35% tarmac, 35% gravel flat, 20% hill and about 10% more are just too lame to be mentioned. Pyre might be too much for this trail.

It it technical?
Straight to the point...I should not even used "technical" in the same sentence. The trail was dead boring. To much of straight line and open route, basically some good rider can probably ride with their eyes close for 5 to 10 second. No hustle and no problem. Now me as a mountain biker I want my trail to force me to focus 110% to ride it. I want it to curve and swirls. Pyre is holding it's back here.

How high?
The last time I cursed at a hill was in PCC 2009, stage 4. Now that hill really kick my ass. It kicked me good it keep kicking even when I was down . Started with single trail climb to open trail that spiral to the top of the hill. I had to stop for a few times to catch my breath , that was the last hill that makes me ask...How high is this hill?? Here in Terengganu, I will consider myself lucky if I can find a hill that can make me push my bike. Pyre is has never been push here...

Downhill, yeaha @$#%^* wat over already kaa??
Since there are no high hill here, there are no long way down. If can ride downwards for more than 2 minutes, it would be a miracle. I really cannot push my bike to it's limit. Nor attempt to break it. I think the Adrenalin in my brain are getting sticky since my last ride in KL. Pyre was a jokes here...

How fast can you go?
This is the only part where I feel I cannot keep up with my fellow rider, riding a bike with 2 piece of crank and weight around 14KG surely is not the best option. Tarmac and flat Pyre is simply at it's disadvantage. Especially when everyone is riding at 3+Km/H and I simply cannot get myself to pedal hard enough. Pyre can be a fast bike, but definitely without the extra juice from me to hauled the weight and bike setup.

Overall...
I think Pyre is a good bike, but here it will be under used. Pyre were not meant for this kindness and pampering. I wish that I could find a better place to ride it properly. Terengganu would be much suited with hardtail or a fullsus with less than 2 inch suspension. Lighter and agile should be the best selection here.mr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-32410576958265655722009-12-17T23:06:00.000-08:002009-12-17T23:37:24.635-08:00Terengganu the new saga...18th December 2009
Friday
8.00 am
Bukit Kor ( Kuala Terengganu)

It has been a while since my last update, not that I do not want to write something but I just could not find the mood of a writer, I can still remember me sitting infront of my PC and try to write, still after half an hour there are still nothing on my blog. Somehow today I am feeling lucky and lite, must have been the left over adrenalin still stuck in some part of my brain.

Today was my first rides with the riders from Terengganu, I was greeted by a blessing rain from above for about 4-5 minutes of my rides. Reach the meeting point and there were already 2 riders there, Bob and Zam. Not long after we were joined by many more...The only thing that concern me, I am the only Full Suspension rider!!! wtf??

Start off pedaling not so long after, we ride the tarmac for about 4-5KM, heck it was tiring for me, plus the hill. Arghhhh!! I am so on the wrong bike. Reach the trail part, ground was covered with gravel and also some dirt still mostly gravel. In my opinion, it was a loose trail. It kind of make it a bit hard to pedal on the climbing part. Technical not that much, maybe a 1/5. Downhill only a few, uphill nothing as crazy as Helipad (FRIM) or Kemensah. Overall acceptable place to ride. Still to ride it every week with no other places to go?? This will be a very longgggggg year for me.

No wonder all the rider I met today were on Hardtail, judging from the trail they would not be needing the extra shock nor the extra travel. This time it will be a bit hard to compete... Well maybe after a few extra rides I will be okay.

Next time I will bring a camera and take a few shot at the trail. Still it was a great ride for today. The one that make me look sluggish and slow.mr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-55223549123994278182009-07-20T00:27:00.000-07:002009-07-20T01:30:31.270-07:00Kemensah Solo rideHuhhh..Another Sunday has arive at my door step, I did not make any plan this week. My car was still at the workshop, so I cannot really go anywhere far.

Some of the GG's riders are going somewhere else, there are looking for an advantures in a far away land. I guess they did found it, probably in
Neverland or Wonderland.

Time to hit the trail solo this time, its been a while... Still I am optimist that I would not be cycling all alone, I might stumble into other riders inside the trail.

I have decided to take the short Hash Trail, I am by myself so it would not be wise to venture too far into the jungle. 15 minutes of riding and I already stumbled into a group of rider. Did not stopped to chat, just waved and go. Meet another 2 riders on the way up the hill. The were much chatier, so had a few words with them.

I notice my climbs are a bit rough, having a hard time to maintain straight line and i keep weavering. Have to do something about it fast, may have to adjust the handling aspect a bit more.

Almost lost control too, hahaha probably my mistakes though. Since my neck injury it still feel a bit stiff a certain angle. Well hopefully everything will be well before PCC. If times permit would like to finish earlier than the last time I enter it. Finger cr0ss.

Have to change the front fork...Revelation 110-140mm, that should do the trick.mr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-79677403700920216282009-07-06T01:25:00.001-07:002009-07-06T09:22:10.288-07:00Riding is simple
How to start?

Well it is a very simple things to do, a helmet, a bicycle and some decent shoes are all that you

need for cycling. If you got all that, than you my friend are set to try on cycling, either mountain biking or road ride. Very simple right? Do not worry about what kind of discipline you want to be, think about that later on when you have tried cycling first.

No one to join?

Hell that is not a problem, you can start cycling by yourself first. Start of by cycling around your neighborhood gaining more distance day by day. I am pretty sure you will stumble into another rider very soon. Either on the road or it could be at your local bicycle shop. Cycling alone is fun but cycling with a member are meaningful and joyful.

Is it safe?

Hmmm, every single sport has its own risks and danger. Cycling does not differ from it either. However we can avoid all the danger and the injury by implementing safety in our ride. Always wears helmet and shoes when riding. It help minimize risk of injury. Gloves does help as well so wearing one is a good idea. Plan your route and a avoid using heavy traffic route, always be aware of traffic and never ever use your Ipod when riding in a busy place. One more thing never made sudden change of directions. You may never know a car is coming from behind.

How much will it cost?

The cost can be minimize, just buy what you need and not the super awesome one.Unless you really know what you are getting yourself into. Basically a normal bike for exercise can cost less than RM700. That should be decent enough for exercises purpose. Remember that this kind of investment will effect your health and your lifestyle.

So there it was, why wait to start exercising. Why wait to start cycling? To be exact the trail is only 2.1KM, well that is what my Cyclometer clock though. I have no idea where does the trail got it names from, but one thing for sure. Pat, Joe and the KLMBH members sure did good job with it.

For me the trail does not have any resemblance with Kiara 2K, the trail here is much more difficult for me to handle. Single trail is the only menu here, no wide opening and no fork or split in the trail. The single trail is very narrow and there are a lots of small trees at the side. One can easily knock the trees and been thrown of the bike. ( You all can ask Gaz for references).

Roots are almost spread open everywhere in the trail path, big or small. I really wonder how slippery will it get when it rain? Roots and plus the bumpy trail will surely make you feel sitting on the saddle is not an options.

Climbing parts are not that bad, some climbs are technical and tricky but can be manage if you approach it correctly and with the correct speed. Mostly the climbs are at acceptable level, so do worry much about it. Nothing a granny gear cannot handle...kekeke.

Overall this is not an easy trail for me, never thought a short trail could bring this much of trouble. Riding on a fullsus helps but it does not mean one can go very fast on it. Try out the trail for yourself and you will know.

Good luck.

Maps on how to get there.
mr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-78033477399715964512009-05-10T07:38:00.000-07:002009-05-28T09:20:21.953-07:00Banshee Pyre test out...Sunday 10th May 2009.

Trail: Epic Hash Batang Kali
Distance: 55KM
Machine: Banshee Pyre
Specification:

Fork: Epicon RLD 100mm
Shifter:X-9
RD: X-9
FD: XT 09 top clamp
Crank: Race Face Ride DH
Pedal: Crankbrother Smarty
Wheelset: American Classic Mtb 26
Tyre: Panaracer FireXC pro 2.1 front and rear
Brakes: Avid Elixir CR
Headset: FSA Orbit
Stem: Truvativ 90mm
Handlebar: Bontranger X
Grips: Lizard Skin

The test...
This is my comment on riding Pyre Banshee, base on what I know and feel. I have no understanding in the engineering of a bicycle so my opinion is just base on my feelings.

The trail was 55kM, the first 20 KM was an easy trail. Most of it is flat with some small climbing. I notice that there in no pedal bob during the ride, even if i turn off the propedal function. This certainly make the trail feels like I am gliding on it. VF4B sure work well on flat terrain, responsive during a sudden sprint and sprinting away with the bike is not a problem at all. Nice!!

I try turning on both setting Propedal on and off while taking a hard corner. Using minimum braking power I can feel the bikes taking the corner without a problem. There is no flex, the swing arm is very rigid but it swallow all the bumps with an ease. Try a hard a corner with maximum braking power and swoosh the tail to make a turn. Again the bike handle it smoothly and respond very well to rider and trail condition. Good boy!!

There are lots of climbing for me to test the bike too. As you can see, my bikes is using a 100mm fork and reverse stem setting. So my bike look a bit lowered. For a long smooth climbs the bike is good and doing well. For technical climbs, since the rear arm is so rigid but active the technical part is a lot easier. Each time the rear hit a bump or obstacle the VF4B system brings the arm up and forward. What I am trying to say is, the bike actually pull it's rear arm by itself as we go on a bump. That actually have a different effect on my riding, making it much easier. Smiling Happily!!

River crossing, mean I have to carry my bike on my back. Since the frame of Pyre is much more solid and tough.Plus the VF4B system the bike is actually a bit heavy. Crossing the strong current river with the Pyre on my back...ughhhh...I am grinning here!!

Downhill is the most preferred part of cycling for everyone, Same goes to me. There is a steep downhill section in our ride today, a good place for a test. Without even stopping to check the downhill part I just bluntly go down. Again Pyre live up to its name. Handling is not a problem, easily clear the section in less than 2 minutes. Laughing like mad people!!

Overall the Banshee Pyre is a good bike, the VF4B work. Would i recommend this bike to my friend? Ooooo yes, yeah baby yeahh!! The bike was design to take all the things that can be thrown by XC to All Mountain rider...mr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-52632383085687996362009-05-08T19:24:00.000-07:002009-05-08T19:42:31.484-07:00Breath of PyreFriday, 8th of May 2009.

Finally got the bloody FD for my Pyre. Within that range, lots of surprises awaits you in it. There are a drops, roots, rocks, and even fallen tree. The biggest challenge however would be the one that they call 'Triple terrace'. I have seen some and heard of many stories of the fallen. Hehehe, some rider are still not out of their last phobia of that place.

If you plan to have a quick challenging ride then 2K is one of the option you can choose. still 2K could be KNOCKOUT and KILLER trail if you underestimate it. So please enter with awareness and cares, it is always best to follow an experience rider and learn how to handle the trail at first. Bluntness is really not needed.

Anyway this is a great place to ride, needless to say every single rider should have a go at this place. I for instance would be more than glad to go there again and again. So sesaper yang minat technical tue. Turun laa kesana.

Trail dia around 6-7km..1 loop. Tapi dengar kata ada banyak laluan. So maybe terpulang pada laluan anda.

Kemahiran penting dalam trail ini, jadi untuk first loop take it slow. Study the trail and learn how to handle it. Second round baru blast all out.

Oraits pictures later will put.
mr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-12162881034528753662009-01-05T08:56:00.000-08:002009-01-05T09:03:32.837-08:00Road bike??
Its been a while...bukan aku yang tidak mahu update. Huh..pastinya aku tidak sabar nak mencubanya atas jalan raya. Sangat-sangat tidak sabar.

Lepas siap hal aku kat rumah, terus aku hadap roadbike aku... Hehehe.

Esok maybe aku letak gambor...
mr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-51868581589563742642008-11-09T19:18:00.000-08:002008-11-10T08:37:52.760-08:00Rescue 911

The Mission
Retrieving Gaz good ol buddy, 'The Gurkha'. As I have mentioned before this trail is badly damaged and could be very frustrating and for those who went there for the first time. Sham learned about it right away...

Ride strategy was almost the same as the last recce ride, keep a tight gap, slow pace and do not stop too long. Acting out as ride lead I was trying very hard to keep the slow pace. Still because of the trail condition it was a futile attempt. I also thought that doing Sg.Pusu - Kemensah was another crazy heck of an adventure. Tiring me and wearing down to my bone, Hell the distance is short but the trail condition are so wacko that it will keep you wondering when will this be over. I always believe that nothing would be more challenging than those two...

Hell I am sorry to inform myself that I was dead wrong...Super wrong, BLOODY HELL wrong!!! Here comes Kemensah to Janda Baik...Here comes the PAIN.

The plan was supposed to a recce ride, to find out about route, and the trail condition. Hence the idea we thought we should keep a small party only. Less than 5 riders should be nice, easy in and out.

Comes to the ride day, 4 riders with a very wide smile and bright expression on our face were up for the task. Our task is clear, find a rideable trail to Janda Baik from Lubuk Tedung.
1.Mr.beskal
2.Gaz
3.Fauzi
4.Syam
The morning sky was blue and bright, the air was cool and refreshing as we started our journey. Everyone keep a slow pace for the tarmac, as if everyone is keeping their juice for whats to come.

Me and Gaz we have already been to Lubuk Tedung before, so we pretty much know what we are up against. Fauzi and Syam are probably new to this trail...A trail so badly damaged by motocross tire and heavily eroded by the rain. Still the strategy is same, maintain slow pace and do not rush out. Our journey to Lubuk Tedung turn out to be very fast I would say, We reach Lubuk Tedung around 10.00 am or maybe less. Gaz and Syam had a lot of time experimenting with their lense. Syam even manage to setup a quick class to photography, hehehe..Hope to see those pic guys.

No break at Lubuk Tedung, cross the river and off we go, Gaz mention to me that we are not following the trail log from the GPS, but it did not matter. There was a single trail that looks very tempting for us. We talk it out and decide to follow it and see where it might lead us. The trail basically bring us up river, till we reach one encampment site and it continue on the other side of the river.

Cross the river...Then from here the trail basically went up and up and up. The trail up was very clear and ride able. Going up and it continue going up, with no mercy at all. Slowly we are swaying away from the river and soon there we can no longer hear it. At this point we are still fresh and energetic, I can still feel my heart pumping smoothly following my cycling rhythm. There are a lot of human traces here, motocross tire mark is one of it. So we are very confident that it will lead to somewhere, hopefully that somewhere is Janda Baik. (Cross my finger)

Press on that is what we agreed on we took a quick breather from the long climb. The curiosity in our blood is still thick..Hehehe. As the day is still early and bright. It would be a waste if we go back now. ( Nape laaa aku degil xmo balik masa nie). Not a while later we stop again for another quick break, phewwww!! Long climb ehh?? To my surprises Celcom got full bar here..hehehe. (Maxis jgn bawak laaa wei masuk hutan, menyakitkan hati jerrr).

Not so long after our climbs we reach to a small river, there we decide to have our break. Nasi Lemak time, yeahaaaa!! Me and Fauzi were busy canibalizing our our nasi lemak while Gaz and Syam were busy harassing some poor dragonfly with their lenses. Finish with the break off we go.

We soon reach a place where a fallen bamboo have over taken the trail, at this point the motocross trail stop. Clearly they turn back. We hack and slash our way through, me with my RM28 steel made in Malaysia, Fauzi with custom made steel, and Gaz with a millionaire Carbon Steel Kukri made In US. After we made through that bamboo part, everything were pretty much ride able, but we have to climb up.

There were some marking on the trail made by a previous person who went in I guess. This is clearly a good sign for us, that is what I thought...Not long after that we arrived at a junction, we choose to go straight here. Not knowing where the other route might take us...I hate to say this, but the trail again seem to be taking us higher and higher. Which mean we need to climb more and moreeeeee.

It is nearly 3.00pm I guess when Gaz bike decide to do it's routine and it was the usual punctured trick. For the love of God what is wrong with your bike?? Maybe we can try and fit a Tank armor on your tire. Hahaha. At this time Gaz seem a bit tired already, he cannot seem to focus on what he is doing. The long climb has taken a toll on us I guess. Syam however still looks okay. Our food supply are already done by this time, and we are getting hungry. The funny things is we are thinking about Lontong!!LONTONG!!! I do not really get it. GPS marker shows that we are really near to a resort in Janda Baik, it is only 3KM more. Knowing that really put us in a reallyyyy food sensation mood.

Forward we march, climbing more and more. However we cannot find any route that can take us near the Resort. The trail that we follow seem to be taking us aside, pushing us far and far away from where we are trying to get to. We stumble upon 2 dried up river, and trail condition are not very smooth anymore. It is ride able but not so great.

We are getting restless now as we do cannot find anyway through, we are starting to loose daylight now. Out of option we tried to bash straight through the big hill, this however is biggest mistake we have done that day. We kill more than 1 hour and a half. Until the craziness and tiredness knock us back into our sense. It was 5.30PM by that time, we are dead rushing. Daylight is burning, and it,s burning fast....uhhhh there is a pretty damn big butterfly in my tummy, huhuhu.

TRAILBACK...that was the decision we had to resort to. There is no other better option that we can take. There were a faint line on my Maxis, there messages from Gaz neighbor. Turn out to be that everyone are so worried now that they cannot get through to us. Now we are kind of in a tight spot, most of us are depleting out, daylight will be over in an hour or less, and no food to fuel us for the journey back.

Since we did much of a climb before, now it is all the downhill time. There not much for us to do but to enjoy the long downhill in a nick of time. Rushing our way down as the forest slowly being swallow by the darkness. Judging from the speed I was thinking that we could reach the river before the night swallowed us completely. I guess it was only faint hope, huhuhu. God must be testing our patience, as one by one problem occurs. Gaz had his front wheel punctured, followed by Fauzi, and just when we thought it was over Gaz rd snap...However that are not the end of it, my bike also had the same fate with it's tire. Since the repair has slow us down repeatedly, the jungle wins...We were completely engulf by the darkness.

The night ride begin...I found myself laughing again at our fate. Our recce ride turn out to be an epic ride, and our epic now has transform itself into a night ride. What the hell mannn!!?? Luckily for us Fauzi had his biking light with him, and Syam's phone were equiped with a torch light. While me and Gaz?? Hahaha. So now Fauzi had to take the lead, and Syam at the back. We were keeping a tight formation, everyone is only one tire gap away. The formation plus the darkness has cause us to move double slow now. Still we are keeping up the positve mind and clearing our mind of doubt, me I am keeping myself well spirited by telling everyone that we are soooooo getting a BIG BIG MAC burger after this craziness. Hahaha.

We reach the riverbank around 7.40PM, I really hope that there would be someone camping out at Lubuk Tedung. As we were slowly pushing our bike through Lubuk Tedung, we heard a loud bang! I thought it was someone hunting a boar or something, then as we approach Lubuk Tedung we can see a glint of candles. Huhuhu, Alhamdulilah...There are people camping out tonight.

I say hello to the campers and introduce ourself and explain a little bit of our condition, and after our little chat with the campers. They were nice enough to share with us some food their had, some bread and biscuit. It was damn delicios if you ask me. A big Yay!!! to the Tiger biscuit and a big Wow!!! for the Gardenia roti jagung. 8.10Pm we had push onward, we still had minimum of 2 hours journey back.

The last 2 hours were totally slow for us, especially the climbing. The trail condition and the darkness are one hell of a combos. Fauzi and Gaz look like they are about to reach their limits, they keep yawning every now and then. Syam on the other hand still looks fine (dia ada jumpa tongkat ali ke dalam hutan tadi??). I had to lower my seat down for this time. I have never done that ever in any ride I have taken, but that night is one big exception for me. I can no longer use the normal setting.

Finally by 10.15 PM we all managed to get out safe and sound, Alhamdullilah... Gaz had asked his neighbor to come and picked us up at Jinbara. They were waiting for us for about 1 hour there, thanks guys. Very sorry to trouble all of you. Now that everyone is out we were laughing at our story with everyone. Even though it was dark, I am pretty sure everyone are smiling out with satisfaction on their face.

Everyone climbs into Gaz 4wd and we all were chating about our long ride we just had...The funny things is. All of them are already talking about doing it again, hahaha. I think if everyone else hear our conversation they surely send us to a hospital to have our head scan. Zaidi invites us to his house for a dinner, so all us went for it and then went home after it. Gaz send us all back to our home. Except for Fauzi who had to drove back to his house (sian ko Zi...)

I reach home around 12.30 AM...I could not help to think that so far this is the craziest thing I have ever done. This will be a new benchmark from now on, a benchmark to a whole level of madness that is. I am not worried though, cause I know this madness has already spread onto my buddies. Hehehe.

I would like to thanks all for helping us, and also thank you and congratulation to my fellow rider. We are now on the same level...

Pictures link:
JANDA BAIKmr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-48862851179328202012008-10-19T03:56:00.000-07:002008-10-19T18:05:37.830-07:00GG dan Empangan Batu, Uu Yam.The morning was sweet, weather was clear and no sign of rain at all. However there are a few section that were not rideable, some because of the fallen debris and some are from the trail errosion.

Then after that long climb we were rewarded with a decent downhill, wohoooo time. Damn we been riding for so long that our butt become numb, so numb that we slowly losing our balls. Kekeke..

As funny as it was, but do you know that men are at risk of getting the most severe injury of all? I am not talking about broken bones, ribs or torn ligament but something more serious. I am talking about Erectile Dysfunction.

Does cycling cause impotence or sexual dysfunction?
I am sorry my friend but yes we are at risk...gulp!!

How can this happen?
Well in the most easy way to explain it, our blood vessels under the groin is being pressured for to long that it interrupt the blood circulation to our penis. This damaged the blood vessel and of course this blood vessel are the one responsible for our manhood erection...damnnn..

Tanda-tanda dan symptoms;
Luckily yes...So u all better pay a great deal of attention here. I Will explain in bahasa now..

Cara-cara mengelakkan ED.

Sekiranya melakukan kayuhan jarak jauh buat beberapa stop or anda boleh buat streching atas beskal anda. Cuba adjust kedudukan anda, agak-agak sampai rasa kebas tu hilang.

Semasa ride plaks, korang rajin-rajinlah ubah kedudukan punggung korang. Kejap depan or belakang. Kira cam main2 laa sket atas saddle korang tue.

Sket jerr tauu.

Tinggikan sedikit handle bar agar kedudukan badan menegap.

http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/cyclingworkouts/a/BikingImpotence.htmmr.beskal@gmail.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14622895443962107856noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5973289172623968823.post-77246230198736457932008-09-22T00:39:00.000-07:002008-09-22T00:57:04.219-07:00GENGGEREK....GENGGEREK...
